Recording guide
Follow these steps. A good recording is what makes your commercial look good.
The place and the light
- A clean, uncluttered spot behind you. Our team uses AI to replace a busy background, but every object is a chance for an error.
- Light from the front, even on your face. A window in front of you, never behind. No shadows when you gesture; no cap, hat or sunglasses.
- No text or brands behind you: signs, posters, logos.
You on camera
- Our team uses AI to keep your face as it is; it doesn't improve it. Show up the way you want to look in the video: hair, beard, clothes.
- Turn off beauty filters and portrait mode (the one that blurs the background).
- Phone at eye level, in the package's orientation: upright for vertical, sideways for horizontal. Ideally propped up. Wipe the lens first.
- You are the star of your commercial: stay close to the camera. Framing is up to you, from the waist up or full body. Just don't stand too far away: far from the camera, your face gets small and loses detail, and viewers stop paying attention to you.
- Unhurried gestures. You can walk and turn; don't turn your back, don't leave the frame, don't cover your face or mouth with your hands.
- Plain, light-colored T-shirt, no prints or logos.
- Only one person in the frame, and no pets. Videos with two or more people are being studied and may become a package in the future.
Your voice
- Quiet around you: no TV, radio, music, fan or traffic. Background music also gets in the way of the subtitles and can cause copyright problems on social media.
- Keep the phone close to you, and don't cover the microphone with your hand or the case.
- Speak in a firm tone, calmly and clearly. Short sentences with pauses between them: subtitles need time to be read.
- Avoid slang and abbreviations. Subtitles, especially translated ones, only come out right when the speech is clear.
- Say the name of your business, product and city slowly. Those are the words most often transcribed wrong.
- One language only in the video: English, Portuguese or Spanish.
Before you record
- Write, rehearse and time your script. It has to fit the package length (15, 30 or 60 seconds).
- 1080p, 30 fps, no 4K. Record two complete takes without stopping in the middle.

Can I ask for changes?
Up to 1 revision of the approval material, before any video is made. The final video has no revisions. If the video comes out with an error that hurts the commercial, such as a face that doesn't look like yours or text that showed up on its own, we redo it at our cost.
